The Book Report Network

Pioneers in putting the publishing industry online.

Where readers and writers click. Since 1996.

What do we do here at The Book Report Network? For a start, since 1996 we have been connecting readers with books and authors.

We’re amused with buzzwords like “discoverability” and “curation” that have become part of the modern book lexicon. For us, it’s always been about delivering reviews for the books that readers expect to see, as well as those we want them to discover. Same with authors; as we look back, we see how many authors we have introduced to readers. It’s why for more than two decades readers have been telling us that they consistently have found their next great read on our websites.

Bookreporter.com  is updated weekly on Fridays with reviews, author interviews , contests, polls and regular features like “Books on Screen,” “New in Paperback,” “Favorite Monthly Lists & Picks,” and “Bookreporter Bets On selections.

ReadingGroupGuides.com is updated twice a month and has content specific to book clubs. The site includes more than 4,500 discussion guides, as well as information on how to start and maintain a book group. There are monthly contests,  as well as reader-participation features.

Our “Bookreporter Talks To” author interview series launched in summer 2019. Our goal there is to deliver long-form author interviews to readers both on podcast and video.  I have been a sought-after interviewer for events and festivals. Recognizing that readers want to connect with authors, but often do not have author programming available to them, we recognized that this was something that we could deliver on an ongoing basis.

In 2020 we developed our  monthly “Bookaccino Live” book preview events and “Bookaccino Live” Book Group program.

Over the years, our unique vantage point has allowed us not only to shape the ways books are reviewed and discussed, but also inspired us to work with authors to reach readers and promote their books. Drawing on our expertise in speaking to readers, our Authors On the Web division provides Website Design and Development Services for authors, publishers and publishing professionals. And we have expanded these services to include Consulting Services, as well as Newsletter Design/Development Services.

My speaking engagements have include keynote presentations, programming for book groups at the Miami Book Fair, author interviews and numerous library and women’s group events talking about books and authors. You can read more about these programs here.

We welcome new readers and invite you to explore our websites. If you are an author or publisher who would like to work with us on a sponsorship, advertising, website design or consulting project, contact information is here.

Happy reading,
